Working in marketing is often seen as a synonym for creativity. For Daniel Hocke, Marketing & Communications Specialist at HELLA Aglaia, flexibility and dynamics are two other buzzwords that also stand out: “You actually need to check the current prioritizations every morning: Did something change and how do I need to respond? This means you have to be comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone on a regular basis.”
This is ideal territory for Daniel. Since the start of 2020, he has been in charge of the marketing activities for the People Sensing division. Thanks to his training in marketing communications, studies in business administration and experience in the automotive industry, he can draw on a wide range of expertise to support his work: It’s great that I can tap into all the experience from previous jobs. This makes some topics routine, while for others I really start from scratch. So it’s a big, exciting spectrum.”
From Daniel’s point of view, the main benefit of this spectrum is its versatility: In addition to overseeing the website and social media, the team also plans trade fair exhibits, manages budgets, and uses ongoing analyses to measure the effectiveness of all activities, each time in close coordination with the relevant departments: “In the ideal case, our work is a strategic cycle. By working together with market monitoring, this constantly gives us options for placing new products in this dynamic field.”
Anyone who thinks that Daniel balances this diverse brainwork with a relaxing hobby is mistaken. As an amateur triathlete, he enjoys spending his time on swimming, cycling and running – true to the motto of flexibility and dynamics.
